Install Themes ~ The Corby World

This tutorial will guide you in installing the themes for corby.

Safety first! – First of all, backup all your data including contacts, files and notes via memory card, syncronisation or PC Suite.

To install new themes, you have to check first whether your firmware supports theme or not. Currently, only the firmware:S3650XEIJ2 Is supported by themes. To check your firmware, type : *#1234#

So, If you don’t have this firmware, don’t worry, you can easily upgrade your firmware.

Procedure on installing themes:

Things required:

A theme file (“menu.swf” , "gadget.swf" , "wallpapers" folder)
USB Cord
S3650XEIJ2 firmware on phone
Multiloader

Procedure:

Connect your phone to PC using USB cord in Media Player mode.
Now, go to Phone Memory
Create a new folder named res
Now, copy the menu.swf file and gadget.swf(if any) and paste it in the res folder
If there is a 'wallpapers' folder, then you might as well have to copy that folder into res folder
Disconnect the phone from PC
Then, turn off your phone
And apply the patch

Patching:

NOTE THAT THE PATCHING IS NEEDED TO BE DONE ONLY ONCE. AFTER THE PATCH IS DONE, YOU NEED NOT WORRY ABOUT IT ANYMORE. WHENEVER A NEW THEME IS UPLOADED, YOU JUST NEED TO COPY AND PASTE THE SWF FILE IN res FOLDER

Now, you need to patch the firmware : S3650XEIJ2 . Download the patch here: Apps_Patch For Corby
This patch archive has two files: ‘apps_patch.bin’ and ‘corby_s3653_thecorbyworld.in.rc2’.

How to patch S3650XEIJ2:

Put the phone to download mode. [To know about Download mode, read this article]
Connect the phone to PC using USB cable
Open Multiloader
Drag and drop the 'apps_patch.bin' and 'corby_s3653_thecorbyworld.in.rc2' into the Multiloader window.
Click Port Search and Then Click Download
After it shows: All Files Complete , remove USB Cable and restart phone.
After you restart, you will get a new Boot Screen Image and new theme.

@nitish everything on my phne will get deleted if i patch it through the download mode..?plzz tell...m asking about d phne memory like contacts n msgs...

@anmol, can you please tell me which firmware do you have?
If you have S3650XEIJ2, then, you can patch it.
Patching will not erase your data but, firmware upgrade will do so.
So, if you have upgraded your firmwre to S3650XEIJ2, patching will not erase your data.

@anmol, the patching is just like the firmware update. But, here only you have to update the xxxxxx.rc2 and apps.bin files. You can see the firmware update video.
But, first of all tell me whether you have updated your firmware or not?

@nitish i hve installed d theme succesfully....its a nice theme n m looking forward for new themes...but ders 1 prob dats happening..its little difficult to change d screen..as i try to change d screen an icon gets clicked n it gets open...

@anmol, Thanks a lot! You are the first user who has successfully installed the theme and updated the firware.
And yes, The theme that I released was just experimental. I will soon release a fix for "Elegance Redefined". I will surely continue to make new themes for Corby.
But, try to refer my site to as many Corby users as possible.

@nitish many of my frnds r using ur site....i want to ask 1 thing..will dis firmware work on corby pop...???my frnd has corby pop n hes interested in updating his firmware..no game on ur site works on his phone...even if he installs the jad file cos corby pop has less phone memory..plzz help.

is there any firmware for corby 2 s3850 .
if no plz can you make one plz plz ....any firmware which will make my phone like a android .....
initially i got that corby 2 runs on android 2.2 and has qwerty in sms ...but its not true ..so can you plz make a firmware which is like android and works on corby 2 ....

when i set selection to "Media player" and connect my corby to PC,, the new hardware found wizard appears and ask for samsung gt-s3650 driver,
coz i have no driver for corby s3650 so i cant be able to make "res" directory in phone memory so plz help me that where i find driver

@Husnain147, It works without any drivers on Windows 7. For Windows XP, you might need to install the drivers

yup that was great!!!i've installed the new firmware and theme.......it is good....can you please release a new android theme for corby?thank you...
(i wanted to tell you one thing......my phone is s3653,whose internal memory was 69.5 mb....but the new firmware gives only 58 mb:-(...please improve that next time)

Uh... okay.. I patched my phone... igot that cartoony loading screen but then when I tap the menu button the screen goes black... but it does not get switched off... and after connecting my phone to my PC Autoplay comes up. I click "Take no action". But when I go into the phone memory I cant create a new folder. There is no option to do so when I right click on the screen. Please help...

Nitish i tried to patch my corby

i dragged and droped the two files and i pressed the port search button.but for some reason download button is not active.do i hav to tick like master rom,full download or something in multi loader before clicking port search button(i tried to do it in windows 7.when i put my corby to download mode and connect it to my pc it says a problem occured while connecting)plz someone help me i am desprate
